Smart meters are coming to BC. Ours was just installed recently, but it appears it will be awhile before residents can actually take advantage of the direct feedback the new meters will be able to provide.
By Spring of 2012, BC residents will be able to log on the BC hydro web site to view their energy usage, hour by hour. Personally, I think an in-home display (not expected to be available until 2013) will be a more powerful tool.
